Great emphasis was placed on aggression and initiative, as platoon leaders were often expected to operate independently of higher command for extended periods – this would prove essential during the intense but often localised fighting during the Battle of the Bulge. Headquarters specialists such as radio operators and medics also received the same training – they were paratroopers first and foremost.

Leadership is absolutely essential in Bolt Action, as the platoon system means you'll always need good officers!
