The Waffen-SS were Nazi Germany's infamous political troops. Primarily equipped with the best and latest equipment, they saw themselves as an elite corps, separate from the rest of the German military, and were regarded by their enemies as the best troops Germany had to offer. Their political indoctrination filled them with a fanaticism that often made them formidable opponents on the battlefield, albeit ones capable of truly horrific acts. Whilst recruitment in the later stages of the war somewhat diluted the SS's elite status, these units remained loyal and fought with grim determination until the bitter end.

With this starter army, you can field a fully rules-compliant Waffen-SS force for Bolt Action: Third Edition - all in plastic! With 36 infantrymen forming a rifle platoon, supported by the mortar teams and machine guns of the heavy weapons platoon, you have a great core of elite foot soldiers to capture and hold objectives, competently supported against armoured vehicles by the Sd.Kfz. 251/10 commander's half-track and the ubiquitous StuG III assault gun, forming an armoured platoon. As if that weren't enough firepower, a PaK 40 anti-tank gun provides an artillery platoon, putting even more pressure on the enemy.
