Textured Rolling Pin With Handle - Small Cobblestones
Textured Rolling Pin With Handle - Small Cobblestones
Textured rolling pin with handle that can press a continuous, repeating pattern on all types of modeling putty, polymer clays, and pastes.
Made of clear PMMA plastic with amazing non-stick properties.
Thanks to their small size and the innovative design of their ergonomic handle, they are easy to transport and use.
Various textures are available, making them compatible with different modeling scales. The textures are scalable to cover large areas, and thanks to their handle, they allow for embossing textures that create curves to add more realism to the model or base.
Roller width: 4 cm (1.5 inches)
Roller length with handle: 14 cm (5.5 inches)
Diameter: 2.5 cm (1 inch)
Scale: 28-32mm (1/64-1/48)
* The textured rolling pins and their handles are supplied unassembled.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1. - Mix the putty/clay, modeling compounds, correctly until it is ready according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
2. - Spread the putty/clay, modeling compounds, out. For better results, smooth the material. * We recommend using a flat, untextured rolling pin for this purpose.
3. - Depending on the type of material, we recommend moistening the roller to prevent sticking.
4. - Move the roller with uniform pressure at points to ensure a continuous texture.
5. - Cut off the excess material on the sides with a sharp knife. We recommend letting the material dry beforehand.
MATERIALS:
There are many different putties and types of clay on the market, and all can be textured with the correct technique.
Modeling with these rolling pins and polymer clay (Fimo or Sculpey type) is usually quite easy, as polymer clay allows for easy error correction due to the heat required for curing.
If the goal is to model textured bases, we recommend using MDF wood bases. It is possible to texture the material directly on the bases and then bake the model together with the MDF wood bases in the oven at 150ºC for 15 minutes. The MDF wood bases will not burn and will lightly smell reminiscent of toast.
In the case of epoxy putties, there are various techniques to achieve similar results. The advantage of these materials is that they do not need to be baked but can be textured directly.
When using Green Stuff, which is particularly sticky, it is advisable to moisten the surface of the roller or the material with some water before embossing the texture.
Also, talcum powder, or even modeling petroleum jelly applied directly, can reduce the stickiness of the Green Stuff.
Other epoxy putties, e.g., Milliput / Magic Sculpt / Aves Apoxie Sculpt modeling compounds, can also be used. However, these should not be moistened, as it unnecessarily complicates the work. If Milliput appears too sticky, the material should be kneaded until the stickiness subsides.
CLEANING AND CARE:
After using the roller, it should be cleaned with scratching brushes and plenty of water to remove any residue of the material used.
SAFETY:
Children should always be in the presence of a responsible adult when using.
