Although capable of offensive strikes, the true strength of House Lannister Halberdiers lies in their defensive formations, which they can use to protect their ranged units from cavalry attacks. An enemy commander would have to be mad to order a frontal assault against such dangerous weapons with such long range. Even charging infantry units should think carefully before taking on a closed phalanx of halberdiers. Caution is advised against enemy flanking maneuvers and hails of arrows, but in the right position, nothing can get past the watchful gaze of the halberdiers.
