The backbone of the Heer - the German Army - was the Grenadiers. It was these men in field grey and Stahlhelms who conquered Western Europe and pushed the Soviet Union to the brink of collapse. As the tide of war began to turn in 1943, the survivors had become hardened veterans, and new recruits had to learn fast. Well-equipped, well-trained and led by experienced officers, Grenadier units remained dangerous opponents throughout the war.

This starter army allows you to field a fully rules-compliant German force for Bolt Action: Third Edition - all in plastic! With 36 infantrymen forming a rifle platoon, supported by the mortar teams and machine guns of the heavy weapons platoon, you have a flexible core of troops ready for any tactical challenge. They are supported by a tank platoon, consisting of the legendary Panzer IV and the versatile half-track howitzer carrier Sd.Kfz. 251/9 "Stummel", with a PaK 40 in an artillery platoon providing even more firepower.

Cross of Iron can be assembled and customized in an incredible way or played directly out of the box, making it the perfect entry into a new Bolt Action army.
