What is True Metallic Metal?
Vallejo True Metallic Metal contains 80 acrylic paints, divided into 20 colour families, specially developed for fantasy, historical and sci-fi miniatures. It is a sophisticated 4-stage system, Base-Light-Shade-Airbrush, where each colour is available in the respective variant. This allows metallic surfaces to be built up step by step: From the opaque base colour (Base) to targeted highlights (Light) and realistic shadows (Shade) to the airbrush version for larger areas.
Aged Metal acrylic paint is water-based and part of the BLS system.

What is the True Metallic Metal Airbrush variant?
The Aged Metal Airbrush variant has been specially developed for use with an airbrush. It has a viscosity-optimised formulation and suitable surface tension, so that it can be applied directly from the nozzle in the same colour tone as the base variant.

Do I need prior knowledge for True Metallic Metal Airbrush paint?
If you work with an airbrush, you should know the basics of pressure, nozzle diameter and spraying technique. The airbrush variant of True Metallic Metal is optimally matched to this application, so that it can be sprayed efficiently directly from the bottle, without the need for strong thinning or adjustments. It is perfect for quickly priming large areas or achieving smooth blending effects, thus ideally complementing the Base variant.

For airbrush application, Vallejo recommends a setting of approx. 15-20 PSI (0.5-1 kg) and, if necessary, the use of Airbrush Thinner for thinner layers.

Application tips
Use the airbrush paint for large metallic areas, backgrounds or quick priming.
Gloss transitions or glazes can also be realised with an airbrush in the same tone.
Remember to choose the nozzle and air pressure appropriately (e.g. low pressure for control).
If necessary, the airbrush paint can also be slightly thinned to create softer transitions or glazes, as long as the colour tone is maintained.
