T-34/85 medium tank (plastic)

The T-34 series, with its enormous armour, changed the principles of tank construction during the war. The sloped, angular layout of the T-34 increased the effective armour thickness and resulted in a greater proportion of shells being deflected. With the introduction of the T-34 into service, German tank design followed with similarly angled armour such as on the Panther and King Tiger. As German tank design came to the fore, the Soviet war machine raised the bar once again with the T-34/85.

The T-34/85, the true symbol of Soviet military strength in World War II, had a new turret that accommodated the more powerful 85 mm ZiS gun. An extremely robust and reliable tank, the T-34/85 had excellent cross-country mobility, especially in the marshland or snow of the Eastern Front, and was easy for the crew to operate and maintain.
