The legendary Thunderwolves, giant beasts whose jaws are strong enough to bite through steel, come from the Maelstrom Mountains. There are several confirmed cases of older Space Wolves hunting and "taming" Thunderwolves. This practice is believed to be an initiation ritual into the higher ranks of the Wolf Guard and the origin of the legendary Thunderwolf Cavalry. These riders form a small but fearless elite within the ranks of the Wolf Guard, unmentioned in any Imperial records.

The kit includes 3 Space Wolves on their wolves and a wide selection of equipment parts, including:
- 1x power hammer
- 1x power/frost axe
- 1x plasma pistol
- 3x storm shields

It also contains numerous other weapons and components, all interchangeable with the rest of the Space Wolves range.
