Soviet infantry often found themselves in direct confrontation with enemy tanks, especially in the brutal meat grinder of Stalingrad. Lacking heavy weapons support, they were forced to improvise and develop new tactics to destroy enemy vehicles at close quarters – a task that required extreme dedication, for which the Naval Brigades were renowned. Perhaps the simplest anti-tank weapon of the war was the ‘Molotov Cocktail’, a home-made incendiary grenade, whilst the German Panzerfaust, captured in large numbers, became the preferred weapon of Soviet Tank Hunters in the late war. On the Bolt Action tabletop, the Tank Hunters provide you with a small unit of infiltrators with deadly anti-tank capabilities, making them a perfect addition to any rifle platoon expecting to face enemy armour.
