Lauka Vai was once a valiant vampiric knight who, though she cared little for the mortal peoples of Ghur, refused to feed on the weak. Yet her constant struggle against the hunger within her was brutally ended when she faced a Tzeentch sorcerer. Plunging into a pool of primordial slime, she re-emerged in monstrous form, slaying her companions before her crimson thirst could be quenched. Now she belongs to the bestial Avengorii dynasty, leading her vampires with the dignity of a true warrior queen while waging a battle against her own base instincts that she cannot win.

Lauka Vai towers over the battlefield as a bestial blend of bat-beast, dragon, and vampire, dispatching any would-be challengers with an ease befitting a noble knight in monstrous form. As long as she remains sane and keeps her thirst in check, other Soulblight monsters follow her every command, but at any moment, a deadly rage can overcome her, transforming the Mother of Nightmares into a rampaging, howling whirlwind of bloodshed.
