Signature Set - RAFA "Archiduque" - Sudan Campaign 1881-1899

This set contains Rafa Archiduque's personal selection of colours for painting 28mm miniatures for the Sudan Campaign.

The colours can also be used on figures of other scales. Although the range of shades could be much wider, you will find the necessary colours for projects from this war. The shades are chosen so that 28mm miniatures can be painted with the three-tone system, i.e. a base colour plus one, two or even three highlights, if required.

The Sudan Campaign was a British colonial war that lasted from 1881 to 1899, in which the followers of the Madhi (Ansar) clashed with British troops and the Khedivate of Egypt. The British army initially wore its characteristic scarlet jacket, then a grey uniform for a period of the campaign, and finally a khaki uniform. Some units, such as the Camel Corps, wore a blue-grey jacket. The Egyptian infantry wore a white uniform in summer and a blue uniform with a red fez in winter.

The clothing of the Madhi (Ansar) was very colourful and consisted of fabrics in various shades of white and a range of cream, beige and earthy tones. Later, they also used a type of clothing called Jibbah, which was characterized by colourful geometric patches.
