With the defences in ruins, Horus Lupercal uses his control of the spaceports to usher in the next phase of the siege. Soldiers and heavy tanks stream from the ships of his mighty fleets in orbit, and on both sides, powerful Titans march to engage in an explosive battle. Jaghatai Khan devises a desperate plan to recapture the main spaceport to stem the tide, but he must face his former brother Mortarion, infused with infernal energies. A duel for eternity ensues.

WHY YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK
Countless mighty Titans clash in the devastated wasteland that was once the proud homeworld, as the Warmaster calls down reinforcements from orbit. No less epic is the encounter between Jaghatai Khan and Mortarion. In a desperate move, Khan attempts to retake a crucial position to cut off the flow of war material and troops. The conflict will only grow larger and deadlier thereafter.

THE STORY
In Mortis, the traitors have taken control of the spaceport, allowing them to usher in the next phase of the siege. Horus dispatches the majestic legions of his Titans to breach the Mercury Wall, which the Loyalists seek to prevent with their own God-machines.

The siege progresses in Warhawk. The White Scars, led by Jaghatai Khan, the Warhawk of Chogoris, in their desperation, devise a plan for a counterattack to retake the Lion's Gate spaceport against all odds. As it is held by Mortarion and his Death Guard, a decisive confrontation ensues.
