The medium armoured personnel carrier (3.7cm Pak) (Sd. Kfz. 251/10) was used as a platoon commander's vehicle.
With the 3.7cm Pak 35/36, lightly armoured vehicles and lightly fortified positions could be effectively combated. The first test vehicle was available as early as May 1941.
Series production began in July 1941. The 3.7cm Pak 35/36 was modified so that the scope and aiming devices could be positioned significantly lower. This resulted in a much lower silhouette.
