The year is 218 BC. Rome has declared war on its old rival Carthage and now watches as a Carthaginian army under the command of Hannibal Barca crosses the Alps.

His invasion, which brought the war to the heart of the Roman Republic, was part of the three Punic Wars, a series of conflicts in which Rome and Carthage fought for supremacy in the Mediterranean.

Hannibal inflicted a series of crushing defeats on his enemies, some of which still resonate in the annals of military history today. It was not until sixteen years later that he was defeated in his own homeland on the plain of Zama by a young Roman general named Scipio Africanus.

But many other peoples were involved in the wars between Rome and Carthage. Celts, Iberians, Numidians and Italiots all had to choose a side in the struggle between the two giants. The victor was promised dominion over Europe and possibly the whole world...

Age of Hannibal is a SAGA expansion covering the three Punic Wars between Rome and Carthage, which took place between 264 and 146 BC.
This expansion includes six factions - some of which include multiple variants - each with its own battle plan, history, legendary units
and special rules.
In addition to these factions, this book contains a wide selection of mercenaries that you can add to your army, as well as new stratagems. With them, you can customize your army by giving units special advantages or delivering insidious blows to your opponent.
This expansion is rounded off by Epic SAGA, a completely new way to play SAGA. It allows you to play games with armies of 12 to 18 points. Now you can relive the greatest battles of antiquity on your tabletop! This game mode includes special rules, new inspiration abilities and a special form of game setup.
To play SAGA Age of Hannibal, you need a copy of the SAGA rulebook. We also recommend the Book of Battles to make your SAGA games even more interesting and varied.
