Polish Army Weapons Teams

Infantry Weapon Teams are an important part of any Bolt Action army, as they offer great tactical flexibility to your force. Sniper teams, light mortar teams and anti-tank rifle teams are among the most popular weapon types that present numerous challenges for the enemy to overcome.

Like many other nations, Poland learned from the experiences of World War One and understood the value of close-in weapons with mortars. Many infantry companies were provided with 46mm light mortars to fulfill this close support function.

The Polish Army did not have specially equipped snipers, but the best shots in a company were designated as snipers.

The Polish wz.35 anti-tank rifle was unusual in that it didn't fire a solid tungsten core round, like most other nations' anti-tank rifles. Instead, a standard lead core with a steel jacket was fired. Rather than penetrating the hull like conventional anti-tank rounds, the transferred energy caused spalling (creating a piece of armour to break off within the crew compartment), which led to shrapnel ricocheting around inside the vehicle - a very unpleasant prospect for the crew!
