Pike & Shotte Cavalry

The cavalry of this period were typically very heavily armoured. They rode large warhorses that alone were capable of intimidating infantry. The riders were protected by breastplates and very sturdy helmets. Their offensive weapons included a selection of pistol, sword, or axe. If possible, they carried carbines for long-range combat. These models can be assembled as Royalist and Parliamentarian cavalry of the English Civil War, or as one of the diverse regiments during the Thirty Years' War.
