Unlike their Necron masters, Canoptek Spyders never sleep, but spend eons maintaining the tomb world's machinery. Although the Canoptek Spyder is little more than an automated drone, it is a dangerous opponent if necessary. If an enemy is foolish enough to get too close to the Canoptek Spyder, a medley of tools and pincers will tear the flesh from their bones. When a trio of Canoptek Spyders operates together, one takes command and uses the processing power of the other two to create a superior intelligence more powerful than the sum of its parts. This increased processing power is also used to boost the performance of all Canoptek Wraiths and Scarabs in the immediate vicinity, allowing for a coordinated and precise response to any threat. Thus, the Canoptek Spyders ensure the safety of their slumbering masters.
