Black Powder: Napoleonic French Line Lancers

At the Battle of Wagram in 1809, some Polish light cavalrymen fought alongside Napoleon. They used the lances of previously captured Austrian Uhlans and demonstrated their effectiveness in battle. Impressed by this, Bonaparte ordered nine regiments to be raised based on the model of the Polish cavalrymen.
With their nine-foot long lances, adorned with red and white pennants, and crowned with gleaming classic helmets, they cut a fine figure not only on the battlefield.
These lancers had rather unusual tasks in the French battle lines and were most often used as scouts, for rapid raids, and, especially in Spain and Russia, decisively in skirmishes.
Armed with lances, sabers, and occasionally carbines and pistols, the French lancers were a dangerous and not to be underestimated opponent!

Models are supplied unpainted and require assembly.
