Merdc Camouflage Colors

A 3rd Generation acrylic paint set with the eight colors essential for reproducing the MERDC (Mobility Equipment Research and Development Center) camouflage patterns used on US Army vehicles from the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s.

Eight different patterns were designed for use in various terrain and weather conditions, and all but one (Arctic White, which was simply white overall) consisted of four colors: Theoretically, colors No. 1 and No. 2 each covered 45% of the vehicle surface, and colors No. 3 and No. 4 each covered 5%. The profile guide on the back of the box shows examples of each multi-color pattern.
