Black Seas: Merchant Vessels

Merchant vessels were not designed for combat. They were slow, cumbersome ships, designed to have a large capacity for carrying goods, but at the cost of maneuverability.

In Black Seas there are many scenarios that require the use of merchant vessels. Scenario 4 – Blood and Plunder! (Page 41 of the Black Seas Rulebook), sees two opposing privateer fleets attempt to claim the contents of merchant vessels for themselves, whilst in Scenario 9 – Landing Expedition (Page 46 of the Black Seas Rulebook) merchant ships laden with troops attempt to traverse enemy waters and disgorge their cargo onto a contested island.

The kit contains one large and one small merchant vessel, each able to be equipped with optional figureheads.
