Legiones Astartes: Special Weapons Upgrade Set

Tactical Support Squads replace the utilitarian bolter of their comrades with more specialised weapons, allowing a Legiones Astartes force to operate with even greater versatility and tackle more targets on their own terms. Each of a Tactical Support Squad's weapons has its place – flamers are ideal for clearing bunkers, trenches, and urban areas, while high-rate-of-fire volkite calivers are used against hordes of enemy infantry. Meltas provide beams of thermal energy for anti-tank duty, and volatile plasma guns can even vaporise heavily armoured elite troops. Arcane volkite weapons – both the volkite caliver and the lighter volkite serpenta – sear through their targets with beams of thermal energy.

This plastic upgrade set can be used to equip Space Marines from the MKVI Tactical Squad Set with powerful special weapons, allowing them to serve as a Legiones Astartes Tactical Support Squad. The kit includes 10 flamers, 10 plasma guns, 10 rotor cannons, 10 volkite serpentas, and 10 volkite calivers, allowing you to upgrade three full MKVI Tactical Squad sets into six Tactical Support Squads of 10 models each, or 12 units of five models each. The set includes five slightly different designs of each special weapon, ensuring your Legionaries are distinguishable even in the thick of battle.

This upgrade set comprises 100 plastic components and has been designed to be assembled with the MKVI Tactical Squad Set, which is sold separately. These components are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.

You will need a copy of the Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Age of Darkness Rulebook and either Liber Astartes: Loyalist Legiones Astartes Army Book or Liber Hereticus: Traitor Legiones Astartes Army Book to make full use of these upgrade sets.
