Robust and well-suited to the most intense engagements, the Scorpius missile tank is valued in the Legiones Astartes as a source of manoeuvrable artillery support. Often collectively referred to as 'Whirlwinds', these tanks carry multiple missile launcher systems that are an essential component of any Legion’s war machine, providing long-range suppressive fire and trench-clearing salvos. The Scorpius itself entered service shortly before the Horus Heresy, conceived at the behest of the Space Wolves Legion in a war against fortified xenos bastion-cities – where its performance swiftly saw it adopted for general use.

This multipart plastic kit builds one Legio Scorpius, a mobile artillery tank based on the Deimos-pattern chassis. Its turret-mounted missile system is loaded with rotating magazines of explosive rockets, capable of blanketing entire zones of the battlefield in a whirlwind of shrapnel and flame. Its launchers can be posed at various angles, to denote a devastating direct salvo or arcing barrages that are the death of all but the heaviest infantry.

In addition to its twin-linked bolters and smoke launchers, this kit includes components to upgrade the Legio Scorpius with a pintle-mounted weapon – a havoc launcher, heavy bolter, heavy flamer, multi-melta, or a combi-weapon with five configurations (bolter, flamer, melta, plasma, or volkite) – as well as a searchlight, dozer blade, hunter-killer missile, and cosmetic options such as towing hooks, sigils, and a choice of Space Marine gunner, spotter, or closed hatch.

This kit comprises 125 plastic components and includes a Legiones Astartes Vehicle Transfer Sheet with 44 optional markings and icons for the Sons of Horus and Imperial Fists Legions. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
