Legiones Astartes: Maximus Battle Group

Many Legiones Astartes forces make extensive use of Mk IV 'Maximus' pattern power armour. The most visible distinguishing features of this armour type are separated angular knee pads, shoulder pads with a thin trim, and helmets with a long, broad faceplate that features slanted vents.

A Balanced Force

This packed box is the ideal way to start a new Legiones Astartes collection – or expand an existing army – and bring the fight to your enemies in games of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, all while saving money compared to buying the kits individually. This force is built around a core of Mk IV Tactical Legionaries and Mk IV Assault Legionaries, backed by a powerful Sicaran Battle Tank and a Contemptor Dreadnought. Together, they form a versatile, balanced army.

This set includes 32 multi-part plastic Legiones Astartes miniatures:
- 20x Mk IV Tactical Legionaries
- 2x Horus Heresy Tactical Marine Transfer Sheets
- 10x Mk IV Assault Legionaries
- 1x Sicaran Battle Tank
- 1x Contemptor Dreadnought

The miniatures in this box are highly customisable. The Mk IV Tactical Squad kit can be built as up to two Sergeants, each of whom can be built with a plasma pistol and either a power fist, power claw, or power sword. Two of the Legionaries can be built with a nuncio-vox, and two with a vexillum on their backs. You'll find 20 helmeted heads, 12 bare heads, and 36 shoulder pads. The kit is compatible with the Horus Heresy Tactical Marine Transfer Sheet. You can also build the kit as a Tactical Veteran Squad.

The Mk IV Assault Squad kit includes components to build a Sergeant with either two power fists, two power claws, or one power fist or power claw and a bolt pistol. The kit includes interchangeable components: 10 helmeted heads, two bare heads, 18 shoulder pads, 10 power lances as upgrades, and 15 accessories.

The Sicaran Battle Tank is armed with accelerator autocannons as its turret weapons, a hull-mounted heavy bolter, and two sponson weapons – you can choose from heavy bolters, heavy flamers, lascannons, or volkite calivers. The kit includes components to equip this vehicle with a pintle-mounted weapon – an infernus heavy bolter, heavy bolter, heavy flamer, multi-melta, or a combi-weapon with five configurations (bolter, flamer, melta, plasma, or volkite) – plus a searchlight, a hunter-killer missile, and cosmetic options such as tow hooks, a dozer blade, and a choice of a Space Marine gunner, spotter, or a closed hatch.

The Contemptor Dreadnought includes eight different ranged weapons you can choose from – a conversion beam cannon, a Kheres assault cannon, a heavy plasma cannon, a graviton cannon, a volkite dual caliver, a heavy bolter, a multi-melta, or a lascannon – each of which can be mounted on either of the Contemptor's arms. The kit also includes two close combat fists, each of which can be built as either a power fist or a chainfist, and allows you to choose between built-in weapons – a combi-bolter, a heavy flamer, a meltagun, or a plasma blaster. The miniature can also be built with a hull-mounted infernus missile launcher or a head-mounted helix targeting array. You'll also find a variety of alternative components and cosmetic options, including two heads, four different armour designs, and a choice of claws or fingers for the power fists, plus scrolls and shield accessories. These miniatures have no specific Legion markings and can serve in any Legiones Astartes force, whether you're loyal to the Emperor or have joined Horus' rebellion.

Each Legiones Astartes Infantry Transfer Sheet contains 618 high-quality waterslide transfers, and each Legiones Astartes Vehicle Transfer Sheet contains 210 high-quality waterslide transfers. These include icons and markings for the Sons of Horus, Iron Warriors, Salamanders, and Imperial Fists Legions, allowing you to decorate your miniatures.
