The Land Raider is considered by many to be the most heavily armoured fighting vehicle of its class in the Imperium’s arsenal and amongst the Space Marine Legions’ line battle tanks. It is a phenomenally powerful engine of war, and its multi-layered composite armour and reinforced hull are all but impervious to even the heaviest weapons, being a sealed unit designed to withstand any kind of enemy attack. It is intended to serve as both a war engine and an exploration vehicle in almost any environment, and can operate freely in war zones ranging from acid swamps to radiated deserts without suffering any noticeable impairment to its performance, and it can even operate without restriction in vacuum, ensuring that there is no open battlefield on which its armoured wrath cannot be unleashed.

This multipart plastic kit builds one Land Raider Proteus, a mighty battlefield transport used by the Legiones Astartes. This vehicle can be built as either a Proteus Carrier, with a front-mounted assault ramp to deliver troops, or a Proteus Explorer, with a dozer blade to traverse difficult terrain. Both variants feature two sets of side-sponson-mounted lascannons, and can be armed with your choice of hull-mounted weapons – twin-linked heavy bolters, heavy flamers, or lascannons. The Proteus Explorer also offers an alternative front for its hull, with sealed armour and a vision slit.

This kit also includes components to upgrade the Land Raider Proteus with a pintle-mounted weapon – an inferno heavy bolter, heavy flamer, multi-melta, or a combi-weapon with five configurations (bolter, flamer, melta, plasma, or volkite) – as well as a searchlight, a hunter-killer missile, and a range of cosmetic options such as tow hooks, sigils, and a choice of a Space Marine gunner, spotter, or a closed hatch.

This kit comprises 159 plastic components, and is supplied with a Legiones Astartes Vehicle Transfer Sheet containing 44 optional markings and icons for the Sons of Horus and Imperial Fists Legions. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.
