Italian X Arditi section

Formed in May 1942, the Arditi X Regiment was named after the famous Italian WWI assault troops and tasked with taking on the British LRDG and SAS units in the Western Desert.

The Arditi X originally consisted of three companies comprising paratroopers, frogmen and the motorised Arditi Camionettisti (often in AS.42 Sahariana recon cars conducting long-range reconnaissance patrols). They undertook covert sea, air and land operations, often behind enemy lines.
