The 100/17 Modello 14 was a medium howitzer designed by Skoda, which made up the majority of the Italian artillery. Overall, the Italian artillery was a hodgepodge from an earlier era, although the crews were well-trained and made the best of the available equipment. The bravery of the Italian artillerymen on the Eastern Front was legendary. They often fired at the approaching enemy at point-blank range, trying to stem the Soviet tide.
