The IONIC WWII German Winter Camouflage Set contains 12 acrylic paints carefully selected to provide the essential colors for white and cream-colored garments, making them ideal for recreating clothing in snowy environments. This set includes all the colors needed to paint winter or white camouflage used on specific pieces of German equipment, including reversible smocks, trouser covers, jacket covers, and helmet covers. It contains colors to create two types of white: a warmer shade (starting from a beige base) and a cooler shade (starting from a bluish gray). These colors are used to build up shadows and create a base that can then be easily highlighted by adding a cream tone (Ivory), a shade also useful for mixing lighter tones and setting highlights on the other elements of the figure. Both whites can be combined on different parts of a miniature or on figures from the same unit to achieve more realistic results, reflecting the variety of shades that would be found on the battlefield.

The set also includes two field gray shades: a darker variant ideal for painting helmets and shading uniforms, and a lighter variant that reflects the classic green-gray of the German uniform. To recreate the typical wear and tear effect on helmets due to weathering and use, the set contains a "washable" white paint. When applied to a dark gray primer and dried, it can be reactivated with a little water to remove part of the white layer. The set is rounded off with several shades of brown and black, perfect for painting equipment such as straps, bread bags, canteens, and ammunition pouches.

Each of these colors can be used directly for individual elements, but they can also be mixed to create new shades, which are excellent for building volume by working with light and shadow.
