Gurkha Section (Far East)

A quarter of a million Gurkhas from the sovereign state of Nepal served in over 40 battalions in WWII. They fought as part of the British Commonwealth armies in Syria, North Africa, Italy, Greece, and against the Japanese in Burma.

In addition to their firearms, every Gurkha carries a traditional Nepalese knife known as a Khukuri or Kukri. This heavy, curved blade is a fearsome close-quarters weapon, especially when combined with the Gurkha's steely determination and unnerving smile - woe betide anyone who faces a Gurkha charge as they roar their battle cry of "Ayo Gorkhali!"
