German Heavy Weapons Platoon

Bring the support weapons to the front!

German forces were well-equipped with support weapons, with fixed machine guns and mortars being two of the most notable examples. The “universal” MG 34 and MG 42 machine guns, when mounted on the “Lafette” tripod, could take on the role of much heavier weapons used by other armies, providing intense suppressive fire over a wide area. They could also be used to set deadly ambushes or secure specific potential lines of advance. For indirect fire support, the standard German 8cm mortar was a simple, effective, and robust weapon that could fire high-explosive rounds even at short ranges.

Medium mortar and MMG teams are a staple of any Bolt Action army, providing your heavy weapons platoons with the necessary firepower. With this set, you can assemble just such a platoon, complete with an officer leading the way and even a Panzerschreck team to fend off enemy tanks! The crew is perfect for the late-war Heer and can also be painted as Waffen-SS. Furthermore, the crew sprue is compatible with many of our other German kits, allowing you to kitbash to your heart's content!

• Two heavy weapon sprues, each with an MG34, an MG42, an 8cm mortar, a Panzerschreck, two tripod mounts, and a selection of ammunition.
• Three crew sprues with a total of twelve infantry figures, which can be assembled as crew or command teams, with a selection of heads, arms, and equipment.
• Four 60mm and three 25mm bases, allowing you to assemble up to four heavy weapon teams or three heavy weapon teams plus a platoon leader and a Panzerschreck team.
