First Rate ships were extremely large and powerful and were a true demonstration of a navy's power. However, they were expensive to operate, so their use in peacetime was limited. A First Rate ship was defined as one having no fewer than 100 guns.

A French Navy 1st Rate, if you use the national special rules, can be an extremely resilient opponent, helping you to decide the battle. French ships have access to the 'robust' upgrade and thus have a significant number of hull points to be decimated.

The highly detailed kit comes with optional figureheads (see picture) that can make your 1st Rate truly stand out. It also comes with a ship card, flag sheet, spool for rigging, and wake markers.

The miniature(s) in this French Navy 1st Rate set consist of plastic and metal components. They are unpainted and need to be assembled. Paints, tools, and glue are not included in the box.
