Well-equipped, with excellent tanks and artillery, the infantry divisions were numerous and confident of seeing off the hated Germans as they had twenty-two years previously. However, this was not the same war, and French infantrymen found themselves all too often fighting German armoured units that outmanoeuvred them during the Blitzkrieg across Europe.
This set is a great way to bolster your French army with reliable HQ choices as well as an 81mm mortar and an old but reliable MMG in the shape of a Hotchkiss MMG.
