THE STORY
For years, Belisarius Cawl has been working on a daring plan to stabilize the Attilean Rift enough for the Imperium to open a safe passage into Imperium Nihilus. However, ever since Primarch Roboute Guilliman crossed the Great Rift and became stranded on the other side, time is running out.

Before Cawl can complete his latest great work, he needs one last thing: well-preserved control codes from an ancient Necron world trapped in the event horizon of a black hole. Knowing that even he cannot accomplish this undertaking alone, Cawl enlists the help of the Adeptus Mechanicus. But as he approaches his goal, malevolent intelligences take notice of the Archmagos, and Cawl soon discovers that it is not wise to attract the interest of Vashtorr the Arkifane...
