Bicycle troops were an important component of many armies at the start of World War II, providing light infantry with excellent mobility on roads without the need for fuel or specialist maintenance. The Wehrmacht made successful use of bicycle troops in their invasions of Poland, France and the Soviet Union for reconnaissance and liaison duties as well as rapid advances.

On the Bolt Action tabletop, equipping your infantry with bicycles gives them excellent mobility at the start of the game before dismounting to fight. This allows you to seize vital objectives and get into cover before the shooting really starts. Perfect for both reconnaissance and rifle platoons, they are a great way to get your troops moving without spending additional points on transport vehicles!
