The Cromwell was very well balanced in terms of firepower, armour, and speed. Armed with a 75mm cannon and two heavy machine guns, it had the same firepower as numerous variants of the Sherman.

With enough firepower for most tasks, the Cromwell also had to rely on its speed and manoeuvrability to avoid a direct duel with larger German tanks. Larger formations of Cromwells usually had the support of a Sherman Firefly to keep the German "big cats" at bay!
