Black Powder: 95th Rifles - Chosen Men

The 95th Rifles was a British Army regiment founded in 1800. A highly trained elite unit of sharpshooters and tough close-quarters combatants.

Unlike regular British units, whose tight formations and volley fire were renowned, the 95th advanced in open formation. They were used as scouts and skirmishers and were always assigned special military objectives.

The 95th was the first unit in the British Army to be uniformed not in royal scarlet, but in dark green jackets.
