Char B1 BIS

The Char B1 BIS had thicker armour and an APX4 turret with a 47 mm SA 35 anti-tank gun (L/32), giving it greater anti-tank capability in addition to the 75 mm howitzer. Influenced by experiences from the First World War, designers believed that a breakthrough tank would be necessary in future conflicts, hence the design of the heavy Char B1 and B1 bis. Among the most powerful tanks at the time, the Char B1 bis was very effective against German tanks during the Battle of France in 1940. However, its slow speed and high fuel consumption made it unsuitable for the more fluid warfare of the time.

With the fall of France, the victorious German military captured 161 Char B1 bis tanks and deployed them under the nomenclature Panzerkampfwagen B-2 740 (f). Some were also converted into flamethrowers.

With this kit, you can build a French or German tank, or one of two versions of German flamethrower tanks. The kit includes one French and two German tank commanders.
