This kit allows 5 different versions of the Italian Carro Armato M15/42 medium tank or the Semovente assault gun to be built.
The Carro Armato was the last Italian medium tank produced during World War II and was mainly used in Italy and Yugoslavia by the German army.
The box also includes decals for Italian, German and even captured Australian vehicles.

*The M13/40, produced by Fiat Ansaldo, was the main battle tank of the Italian Army in World War II, serving throughout the war after its introduction in 1940. Although designated a medium tank, it was more in line with the light tanks of other nations at the time. With armor up to 42 mm thick and a 47 mm main gun supported by up to four 8 mm machine guns, it had a crew of four. Although its diesel engine was underpowered, reaching a top speed of about 20 miles per hour, it was less prone to fire and had a better range than gasoline vehicles.*
*The most produced Italian tank of the war, the M13/40 continued to fight in the Western Desert and in Italy, although it was far outclassed in firepower, speed, and protection by Allied tanks.*

*This excellent plastic kit can also be assembled as a Semovente tank. The Semovente 75/18 self-propelled gun brings some much-needed armored reinforcements to the Italian forces.
The Semovente was an Italian self-propelled gun built by mounting the 75 mm mountain gun Obice da 75/18 modello 34 on the chassis of an M13/40 or M14/41 tank. It had riveted steel plates that were thicker but also less inclined than on the original tank. The frontal armor was almost vertical, but consisted of two plates rather than a single layer, which improved stopping power.*

*You might think that these tanks are perhaps only intended for Italian Bolt Action armies, but you would be completely wrong. Captured M13s were used by the Australians in Tobruk, and the Germans were known to use Semoventes. The kit includes a decal sheet with markings for the Italian Army, German Army and Australian Army.*
