British Airborne Weapons Teams

Infantry weapon teams are an important component of any Bolt Action army, providing great tactical flexibility to your force. Sniper teams, anti-tank teams and flamethrower teams are among the most common weapon types, presenting the opponent with numerous challenges to overcome.

The British forces were armed with 2-inch mortars for close support. Two men were required to operate it. A non-commissioned officer was responsible for carrying and firing the weapon, while the other carried the ammunition. Weighing less than 11 pounds and with an effective range of 500 meters, these mortars could be quickly maneuvered and deployed when needed.

Snipers were armed with an SMLE No. 4 rifle fitted with a No. 32 Mk. 1 scope. The team carried fifty rounds of ammunition, five tracer rounds, and five armour-piercing rounds. Two No.36 Mills bombs or two No.77 smoke grenades were also carried, as were binoculars and a camouflage net.

The portable flamethrower available to British forces was the Ack Pack. Weighing 64 pounds, Ack Packs could be carried and operated by one man. Fully loaded, the Ack Pack could deliver ten bursts of fire, each lasting two seconds. With a range of fifty meters, it was a truly fearsome weapon, excellent for clearing bunkers and buildings.
