The British Expeditionary Force was an army of almost a third of a million men sent to France to resist the aggression of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. Allied with Belgium and powerful French forces, it comprised ten infantry divisions, artillery, tank brigades and supporting air squadrons.

General Lord Gort's BEF fought well, but was outmanoeuvred too often, resulting in a tactical retreat and the heroic but tragic withdrawal at Dunkirk in May and June 1940.

This boxed set contains a 10-man metal section:
- 1x NCO with rifle
- 2-man Bren gun LMG team
- 7 riflemen
