B-26B Marauder Squadron

The B-26 Marauder was a fast medium-sized bomber with clean aerodynamic lines, all-metal construction, and two R-2800 Double Wasp radial engines.

The Marauder initially had a high accident rate due to its speed and small wing area, making it difficult to fly. However, improved training and a redesign of the wings rectified this, and by the end of World War II, the Marauder had the lowest loss rate of any U.S. Army Air Force bomber. Over five thousand Marauders were built, seeing service in Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Pacific.
