Age of Sigmar: Skaventide by Games Workshop

Skaventide is the gigantic debut for the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and it is the best launch box ever.

This massive launch box is packed full of 74 stunning new miniatures, spread across two factions.

The Stormcast Eternals consist of 24 miniatures, with a command staff comprising an imperious Lord-Vigilant on a Gryph-Staker, a ceremonial Lord-Terminos with an accompanying Memorian, a Lord-Veritant with a Gryph-Crow, and a Knight-Questor. The force comprises 10 indomitable Liberators, three battle-hardened Reclusians with their Memorians, and three aspiring Accusers.

Facing them are the treacherous Skaven. They are led by an intriguing Clawlord mounted on Gnaw-Beast and a Grey Seer of the Master Clan, while a Warlock Engineer oversees the stockpile of Skryre weaponry. The crowning glory of this collection of chaotic contraptions is the Ratling Warpblaster, supported by three Warplock Jezzails. A truly formidable contingent of 40 Clanrats makes up the bulk of this vile horde, and three colossal Rat Ogres provide the necessary muscle power.

But that's not all, because Skaventide also contains everything you need to play the new Spearhead game mode. The Stormcast Eternals and Skaven forces include enough miniatures to build their Spearhead armies, and the rules for all currently available Spearhead boxes are included in the 144-page Spearhead book: Fire and Jade.

You also get a double-sided game board with printed objectives, the four required terrain pieces, 3" and 6" distance rulers that can be connected, and all the necessary cards – two Twist Decks and two Battle Tactic Decks. Add a few dice, and you're ready to play Spearhead on your dining room table on launch day.

But that's not all, because this mountain of material is crowned by a 272-page, bound Warhammer Age of Sigmar core rulebook, which is a treasure trove of beautiful artwork, detailed background information - including a fold-out cosmology of the Mortal Realms - and an exploration of each of the eight realms from the perspective of its inhabitants.

This book also contains all the basic and advanced rules you need to play, the First Blood Battlepack, and the Path to Glory Battlepack. It's rounded out with a 17-card card game containing the season rules and battle plans for the 2024-25 season, so you can hone your tactical skills right from the start.
