Afrika Korps Weapons Teams

Infantry weapon teams are an important component of any Bolt Action army, providing your force with great tactical flexibility. Sniper teams and anti-tank teams are among the most widely used weapon types and present numerous challenges for the enemy.

Panzerbüchse is the German word for ‘anti-tank rifle’, but the sPzB 41 was actually a small anti-tank gun complete with its own carriage and crew. This remarkable weapon was designed on the principle of ‘squeeze bore’ operation, where the bore reduced from 28mm to 20mm, giving the round a much higher velocity than a conventional anti-tank gun. Coupled with tungsten-cored ammunition, this enabled the sPzB 41 to achieve remarkable armour penetration at short ranges – performance, however, rapidly fell off.

For sniping, various rifles were used, including the standard issue KAR-98K and the semi-automatic Gewehr 43, all fitted with the high-quality ZF39 telescopic sight and fed with precision-manufactured ammunition.
