The force was a tremendous asset to the Prussian war machine, eventually numbering over thirty regiments by the Hundred Days Campaign.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Landwehr cavalry wore a dark blue Litewka long coat with collar and cuffs in provincial colours. Headwear was a mix of traditional field caps and shakos - often made of oilcloth and with a white cross painted on them.
