One of the first Russian heavy tanks to be fielded in WWII, it was famed for its near-impenetrable armour. German anti-tank weaponry of the time could barely scratch its armour, and only a lack of training and manoeuvrability allowed it to succumb to superior German tactics.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSuch was its size, the KV-1 could literally crush anything in its path, causing firing lines and strongholds to be abandoned at its very sight.
