Whilst perfectly satisfactory, Firefly jump infantry needed more versatile fire support when going into battle. American designers developed an extensive range of refits for the Mudskipper to improve its tactical flexibility. An M21 Tesla cannon and innovative new universal secondary weapon mounts allowed the Mudskipper to be configured quickly for a wide variety of threats, the more articulated legs and feet better stood up to the stresses of hard landings, and a new control system allowed the Mudskipper to be operated by a single crewman without losing its utility. The new variant was designated the M2A5 and was officially considered a continuation of the Mudskipper line rather than a distinct vehicle, but both crews and Firefly troopers quickly christened it the ‘Linebacker’. The new model’s combat debut occurred in May 1947, with 200 Linebackers rushing to the front to breach Axis lines at the siege of Stuttgart during Operation Valentine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis highly detailed, multi-part plastic kit allows you to build a Linebacker armed in one arm with its signature M21 Light Tesla Cannon and in the other with your choice of options: twin HMGs, twin automatic cannons or twin super bazookas. It also has a hull-mounted MMG in the ‘nose’ that can be swapped out for a flamethrower. The model comes with a clear plastic canopy (that can be assembled hinged open) allowing you to see the pilot seated within.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn games of Konflikt '47, a Linebacker is a fearsome weapon, its jump mechanics allowing it to flit across the battlefield or even deploy from reserve anywhere on the table to bring its firepower to where you need it most.
