These 'Automated Directors' are based on the Mk II design and have improved computational and radio systems that allow them to disseminate orders over a wider radius to other automated units. The advantages of fully automated platoons are numerous; these include, amongst others, the avoidance of British casualties and immunity to the increasingly damaging psychological effects on the battlefields.
